Export a year of Apple Card transactions to one spreadsheet
Apple Card statements come one month at a time, but you don't have to download twelve of them. Apple's Export Transactions lets you choose a start date and an end date, so one file can cover a whole year. Open that file in Pennyrow to get clean rows, checks, categories and Excel or CSV, all on your device.
Steps: export the year from Apple
These come from Apple's own help page, checked October 22, 2026.
- Open Wallet and tap Apple Card.
- Tap Card Balance.
- Under Statements, tap Export Transactions.
- Choose a start date and an end date, choose the file format, then tap the done button.
- Go to card.apple.com and sign in with your Apple Account.
- Click Statements, then click Export Transactions.
- Choose a start date and an end date, choose the file format, then click Export.
Apple also lets you export the transactions of one monthly statement: open the statement and tap Export Transactions. For a year, the date range is the shorter way.
Which file format
Apple's help page says to choose the file format and doesn't list the choices there. Pennyrow reads CSV, OFX and QFX files. If CSV is offered, choose it: it is the layout Pennyrow was checked on.
The CSV opens in Excel or Google Sheets by itself. What Pennyrow adds is what a raw card file leaves to you: the sign of each amount, matching the card payment to your bank account, a flag on rows that appear in two overlapping exports, a suggested category for each merchant, and a total for the year.
What the file looks like
This is a made-up file in the layout of an Apple Card Export Transactions CSV. Apple's help pages don't describe the columns, so the layout comes from public copies and your file may differ.
| Transaction Date | Clearing Date | Description | Merchant | Category | Type | Amount (USD) | Purchased By |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 08/31/2026 | 09/01/2026 | BLUE DOOR COFFEE PORTLAND OR | Blue | Food & Drink | Purchase | 6.43 | Jordan Avery |
| 08/27/2026 | 08/28/2026 | SUNRISE GROCERY #0042 BOISE ID | Sunrise | Groceries | Purchase | 68.82 | Jordan Avery |
| 08/13/2026 | 08/13/2026 | ACH DEPOSIT INTERNET TRANSFER FROM ACCOUNT ENDING IN 4821 | Ach | Payment | Payment | -496.93 | Jordan Avery |
- Purchases are positive and payments are negative, the reverse of most bank files. Pennyrow reads a purchase as money out and a payment as money in, so the totals come out the right way round.
- Pennyrow reads the Description, which holds the full merchant text, and the Transaction Date. Merchant is a shorter name and Clearing Date is when the purchase cleared.
- Purchased By says who made each purchase when the card is shared. Pennyrow keeps every row in the one card account.
This is what Pennyrow makes of those three rows. The CSV lists them by date, so the order changes, and the last column is its Transfer column:
| Date | Description | Money in | Money out | Transfer |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2026-08-13 | ACH DEPOSIT INTERNET TRANSFER FROM ACCOUNT ENDING IN 4821 | 496.93 | Possible transfer, not matched: Transfer from an account you didn’t add? | |
| 2026-08-27 | SUNRISE GROCERY #0042 BOISE ID | 68.82 | ||
| 2026-08-31 | BLUE DOOR COFFEE PORTLAND OR | 6.43 |
The payment row and your bank account
The payment row says which account it came from. If you also add that bank account's statement, Pennyrow matches the two sides as a card payment and keeps it out of income and spending, so it isn't counted twice. If the bank account isn't in your files, the payment is listed as a possible transfer you can decide on, and “Not a transfer” puts it back.
What Pennyrow checks, and what it can't
- No balances. The layout we checked has no balance column, so the statement shows “No balances to check”. The rows are still read.
- Overlap. If two exports cover some of the same dates, a row in both is counted once and each removal is listed under “Duplicates removed”. A file with no card number is matched to a card by its name, so two files with different names can first be read as two cards. When they share rows, Pennyrow asks whether they look like the same account, and “Count as one account” merges them.
- One year at a time. The Export tab makes files for one year at a time; “all dates” gives every row.
- Business or personal. Set the card to Business, Personal or Both on the Catch-up tab. In a Both account you choose merchant by merchant.
- PDF statements. Pennyrow reads PDF statements too, but no Apple Card PDF has been checked yet.
Questions
Can I export a whole year of Apple Card transactions at once?
Yes. Apple's help page says Export Transactions lets you choose a start date and an end date, in Wallet on iPhone or iPad and at card.apple.com. You can also export one monthly statement at a time.
Which Apple Card file should I choose?
Choose CSV if Apple offers it. Pennyrow also reads OFX and QFX files, and the CSV is the layout it was checked on.
Why are my Apple Card purchases positive numbers?
In the layout we checked, Apple lists a purchase as a positive amount and a payment as a negative one, the reverse of most bank files. Pennyrow reads a purchase as money out and a payment as money in.
What is the Purchased By column for?
It says who made each purchase when the card is shared. Pennyrow keeps every row in the one card account, and you decide merchant by merchant which purchases are for the business.
Does Pennyrow need my Apple login?
No. You export the file yourself and add it to Pennyrow. Pennyrow never asks for a login, and the file is read on your device and never uploaded. How to check that yourself.
