Catch up your books from your bank statements
Turn a year of bank and card statements into clean books. Free. Your statements never leave this device.
- Every transaction as clean rows, with a balance check on each statement: “✓ Balanced” or “Row 12 is off by $40.00”.
- Catch-up checks for the year: missing months, transfers and card payments matched, duplicates from overlapping files removed.
- Suggested Schedule C (Form 1040) line categories, which you confirm merchant by merchant, and a year-end profit and loss summary.

How do I get my statements?
- PDF statements: in your bank’s website or app, open Statements (sometimes under Documents) and download each month. On an iPhone, open a statement, tap Share → Save to Files, then pick them all here.
- CSV, OFX or QFX downloads are the cleanest: look for Download activity or Export next to your transactions and pick a date range for the whole year.
- Credit cards work the same way: download each monthly statement, or the year’s activity as CSV.
- Add every account you use for the business (checking, savings, cards), so transfers and card payments between them can be matched.
- Password-protected PDF? Pennyrow asks for the password. It’s used only to open that file in this tab and is never saved.
- Scans and photos can’t be read. Use the PDF your bank made, or a CSV download.
